Kikai Dojo practices both Seitei iaido and Musō Jikiden Eishin-ryū iaijutsu. We are affiliated to the Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei through the British Kendo Association which gives us access to high level sensei from Japan.
Iaido, Iaijutsu or Iai is the art of drawing the Japanese sword, one of the Japanese martial disciplines in the education of a bushi (samurai).
Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR) Iaido is the creation of the All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF) and is often referred to as Seitei.
Musō Jikiden Eishin-ryū (無双直伝英信流居合) is a koryū sword art, one of the most widely practiced schools of iaijutsu in the world, and can trace its roots back to the 16th century.
The dojo is located in Chadwell Heath in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, easily accessible to east London or Essex. Please contact us if you are interested in finding out more about Japanese sword arts, or would like to start training with us.
